@mikeymarshful Sorry, I have not made any videos, yet. The most similar style I have seen on here is youtube /watch?v=qTL0P068xf4&feature=related. I compare "winding" a sword up for a strike by going above the head to a boxer moving a fist far back in preparation for a punch. It can open vital areas to much damage. There are times it may benefit, however I feel best to try to keep all within a circle of mine and ukes torso area.

Kata is so much different from What I would "for real" As soon as Uke raises the sword above his head I will go directly in towards his throat or torso. Situation ended.
I practice often, and small sword movements while keeping my hands in my torso area seem to work best. I need to make some vids to better explain. No doubt, they have skill and their teachings are appreciated.
